MAGNOLIA went one big down in its PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign as Russel Escoto suffered an ACL injury.
The 33-year-old power forward went down with the injury while practicing with the Hotshots.
Escoto has been a long-time back up at Magnolia ever since the Magnolia franchise acquired him in a trade with Terrafirma for a 2022 second round pick.

The injury meant the big man out of Far Eastern University will be out for about a year.
It’s the second ACL case for Escoto, who also suffered the same injury during his stint with the KIA franchise (Terrafirma).
His absence left Magnolia with Zavier Lucero, Ian Sangalang, rookie Yukien Andrada, and James Laput to man the middle.
He sat in the bench as the Hotshots absorbed a 91-82 loss to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, snapping their two-game winning streak to drop to 4-5.
