RR Pogoy said he has already paid half of the fine Raymar Jose incurred for playfully throwing the ball at him during Saturday’s match between TNT and Blackwater at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Pogoy said he willingly shouldered half of the P20,000 fine Jose incurred after he was ejected from the game for throwing the ball at his former teammate at Far Eastern University.
“Naghati kami ni Toto (Jose's nickname). Hindi naman niya kasalanan,” said Pogoy following TNT’s win over Alaska on Friday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Pogoy confirmed Jose's action was mere child's play between two buddies even though the ball hit Pogoy’s chin.
Still, Jose didn’t escape the penalty as it is against PBA rules to throw the ball at an opponent.
Pogoy reiterated Jose had no intention of hurting him.
“Nagharutan lang kami. Wala tayong magawa kasi rules ng PBA ‘yun, bawal talaga ‘yun. Tinatanggap namin. Sabi ko ‘To, hatian na lang kita kasi panalo naman kami,'” said Pogoy.
