HELP could be on the way for TNT with RR Pogoy hinting of a possible comeback for Game 6.
Pogoy said he is starting to heal from the hamstring injury he has been dealing with since the quarterfinal series against Magnolia, which has also kept him out for four games in the semifinals against Rain or Shine.
“Tinignan namin kahapon, chineck namin kahapon, maganda ang progress. Naghi-heal na siya,” he said on Friday.
When asked if he is already going to play on Sunday for Game 6, Pogoy jokingly answered: “Secret.”
But turning serious, Pogoy said he is only waiting for the go-signal from the doctors.
“Hintay na lang ‘yung doctor kasi nagi-strengthening na ako ngayon, rehab, pahinga,” he said. “Tignan natin next game kasi hintay lang ako ng go-signal.”
Rain or Shine already bracing for RR return
This early, though, Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao is already expecting Pogoy to come back in Game 6 after the Elasto Painters extended their season.
“They lost Pogoy, but… I don’t know… maybe they’re just buying time for Pogoy. So we expect him to play in the next game,” Guiao said.

The Tropang 5G failed to close out RoS in Game 5 after its 113-97 loss Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. Aside from injuries to Pogoy and Kelly Williams, coach Chot Reyes was also not around, as he served a one-game suspension.
Pogoy said absences are not an excuse - and they only make winning games sweeter.
“Laking apekto rin, pero sabi nga ni coach Chot, hindi excuse ‘yung ganito. Kung sino ang nandiyan, laban lang kami,” he said.
“Grabe ‘yung pinagdaanan ng team namin ngayon. Pero ganun talaga. Mas masarap, mas fulfilling kung panalo ka tapos marami kang pinagdaanan. Ganun talaga.”
