RR Pogoy is a gametime decision when TNT begins its semifinal series against Meralco on Sunday in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Pogoy suffered a back injury during the KaTropa's match-up against Magnolia three weeks ago. The injury was serious enough to keep him out of Gilas Pilipinas in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Now the SEA Games has ended and team manager Gabby Cui said Pogoy's status still depends on his condition come Game One where TNT goes up against Meralco.
After being ruled out of Gilas Pilipinas’ SEA Games stint, Pogoy has focused on returning to action in the Governors' Cup and is expected to play a key role with his three-point shooting and defense to be on display for the Meralco series.
The KaTropa will look to clinch a spot in the finals for the second consecutive conference.
Game One is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at the Big Dome.
The third-seeded KaTropa advanced to the semifinals after beating last year's champion Magnolia, 98-97, on Nov. 25.
The second-seed Bolts, meanwhile, also made it again to the semifinals of the season-ending conference following a 94-84 win over Alaska.
All players are relatively well-rested with only Troy Rosario of TNT and Chris Newsome of Meralco having Gilas Pilipinas duties in the SEA Games.
