RR Garcia vowed to repay the trust of Phoenix Pulse after signing up for his second stint with the Fuel Masters in the PBA.
Garcia ended his eight-month hiatus in the PBA recently by signing with the Fuel Masters for the coming Governors’ Cup. Incidentally, Garcia was part of the first Phoenix team that debuted in the PBA during the Commissioner’s Cup.
Garcia said he plans to do his best for the franchise since it was with Phoenix that he had one of the best conferences in his career where he averaged nearly 18 points per game for the Fuel Masters before being traded to the Star Hotshots.
“Masaya dahil binigyan ako ng chance ng Phoenix na makabalik uli,” said Garcia after Wednesday’s practice at the Upper Deck where he was even wearing his old jersey shorts from his first stint with Phoenix.

The former UAAP MVP admitted he still has a long way to go in reaching his best shape due to the hiatus where Garcia didn’t play since the late stage of the Philippine Cup and TNT opted to let Garcia’s contract expire.
“Unti-unti na nababalik kundisyon ko hindi katulad nung eight months, more on pick-up game lang ako, workout, hindi katulad ngayon. Pisikal na ‘to sa game. Ilang weeks pa siguro,” said the former Far Eastern University star.
Garcia said he is looking forward to his possible first game back in the PBA with NLEX on Saturday.
Maglaro lang daw ako,” said Garcia.
