RAIN or Shine will have added firepower after reactivating rookie big man Luis Villegas on Friday.
The former UAAP Mythical Team member out of University of the East is going to be the 15th man on the team and is eligible to play for the Elasto Painters starting Saturday when they take on the Meralco Bolts in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Selected no. 3 overall in the last draft, Villegas is coming off an ACL injury which he suffered last year while playing for the TNT Triple Giga in the PBA 3x3.
Because of the injury, he missed the Commissioner’s Cup, but he now has been given approval to suit up in the season-ending conference.
Villegas didn’t play in the team’s debut outing Wednesday night when it lost a 108-107 heartbreaker against the Tropang Giga.
The entry of Villegas gives Rain or Shine a young Twin Tower combination in the middle in tandem with fellow rookie Keith Datu.
