RAIN or Shine is quick to make its move following one of its worst PBA showings ever.
The Elasto Painters activated rookie guard Franky Johnson, taking the spot of big man Prince Rivero, and will make his debut in the league on Friday against TnT Tropang Giga.
Johnson, a second round pick of the team at No. 17 in the last rookie draft, was initially lined up for the franchise’s team in the inaugural 3x3 tournament.
But following the Elasto Painters’ 74-48 loss to the Alaska Aces Wednesday in which they were held to the lowest output in franchise history, the coaching staff decided to tweak the lineup a little bit for additional firepower.

Franky Johnson
Chris Gavina confirmed the move which he said the team made after the blowlout loss to Alaska.
"The decision was made last night (Wednesday) and Franky will be available for our game against TnT," he said.
Johnson was put as part of the Rain or Shine 3x3 team along with Joseph Eriobu, RJ Argamino, and Kenneth Mocon following his decision to return to the US when training camp was about to start.
That left him missing the early part of Rain or Shine’s preparation for the new season, with the Elasto Painters deciding to give fellow rookies Santi Santillan, Andrei Caracut, and Anton Asistio a spot in the team’s 15-man regular roster.
But with Rain or Shine registering a number of record futilities in its game against Alaska, Gavina and his coaching staff didn’t wait for long to make their move.
