AS rookie big man Christian David continues to adjust with the physicality of play in the PBA, he gets to go up against no less than the defending Commissioner’s Cup champion in Blackwater’s next game.
The Blackwater rookie is looking forward to his first encounter with Barangay Ginebra on Sunday as he’ll be coming into the game fresh from his best game so far in his young career in the league.

“We’ve got one day to prepare. Obviously, we know they’re a good team,” he said of the Kings.
The No. 2 overall pick in the last draft had 12 points and two rebounds in his finest game yet with the Bossing, although the numbers were not enough to stop the bleeding for Blackwater which absorbed a 111-106 loss to the Phoenix Fuel Masters - their third straight after an opening win.
“I’m not really focused on my individual performance, but I think we could’ve won that game as a team. I think we’re just trying to get better and I know my individual performance would come along,” he said.
David's adjustment
A product of Butler, David said he is still adjusting to the style of play in the league with only four games under his belt.
He referred to PBA games as physical.
“The physicality is the biggest part,” said David when asked about the biggest adjustment he has to make as a rookie. “Just playing through that. I’m still getting comfortable with the style of play here.”
For sure, an athletic team like Barangay Ginebra could offer David his biggest test yet, physical-wise.
The Blackwater freshman though, is ready for the challenge.
“We’re gonna compete on Sunday,” said David.
