RONDAE Hollis-Jefferson is donating the cash prize he won for winning the Best Import award of the PBA 49th Season Governors’ Cup to charity.
Hollis-Jefferson took home P50,000 as part of his prize for winning a second Best Import trophy, which put him alongside Norman Black and Billy Ray Bates on the all-time PBA list behind the seven of the late Bobby Parks.
TNT Tropang Giga’s social media page announced RHJ’s decision to donate his winnings, with the Alagang Kapatid Foundation as the recipient.
LOOK:
The donation by Hollis-Jefferson comes as the country continues to be battered by calamities, the most recent of which was typhoon Marce hitting the areas of Cagayan and Batanes.
The PBA has even chipped in to help those affected by recent typhoons as it donated tickets sales from Game One of the Governors’ Cup finals between TNT and Barangay Ginebra, amounting to P2 million to the Alagang Kapatid Foundation for the victims of typhoon Kristine.
A total of 11,021 fans attended Game One, which was also the highest PBA crowd in Ynares Center history.
