CHAMPION in every level he's been in, Ron Dennison is hoping that his winning mentality entices the coaches and scouts as he enters the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.
The stingy defender from Mandaue, Cebu carries a gaudy resume, winning titles in the high school level with UV in Cesafi, in college with Far Eastern University in the UAAP, and with Go for Gold in the PBA D-League.
And for the 5-foot-11 guard, that's exactly what he knows he can lean on as an edge over his peers: being a winner.
"Malaking tulong sa akin yun na nag-champion ako sa lahat ng nilaruan ko. Marami akong nakalaro na magagaling din at yung experience ko doon yung nakatulong sa akin na mag-grow as a player," he said.
Dennison is a unique talent in the 47-man field, a guard who's more known for his relentless defense than his scoring.
If it took him to great lengths before, there's no use veering away from that forte as the 25-year-old cager vows to bring the same grit if picked in the annual rookie selection process.
"Gagawin ko lang lahat ng makakaya ko para makatulong sa team, lalong lalo na sa defense at hustle kasi doon talaga ako nakilala maglaro, sa defense ko," he said.
Guard-heavy as the class is, Dennison is just keeping his fingers crossed that a team rolls a dice on him.
"Excited ako na kinakabahan, pero positive lang talaga ako at tiwala kay God na siya na ang bahala sa akin ano man ang mangyari sa Sunday," he said.
