ROME Dela Rosa and James Laput will be sidelined in Magnolia's coming games of the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup due to injuries.
Magnolia coach Chito Victolero revealed that Dela Rosa is nursing a hamstring injury that will keep him out for two weeks. Dela Rosa missed Friday’s contest against TNT at the start of Magnolia’s campaign in the conference.
Laput to go under the knife
Laput, meanwhile, will go under the knife on Monday to remove bone spurs in his ankle. The Magnolia big man could be out for a lengthy period of time due to the surgery, Victolero added.
Dela Rosa has been one of the key contributors of the Hotshots over the past few conferences with his defense. In the Governors’ Cup, he has been showing his offensive game as he is averaging 7.7 points per contest and is shooting 44 percent from threes.
Laput, meanwhile, has played in two games in limited minutes after he was part of a trade that sent Justin Melton to Terrafirma during the offseason.
