ROGER Pogoy is looking forward to rejoining TNT by next week in its PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign, hopeful he’s finally fully recovered from his hamstring injury.
The 33-year-old Cebuano guard said he’s looking at least at a three-game timeline before he plays his first game with the Tropang 5G in the mid-season conference.
COLUMN: Will Sedrick Barefield for Roger Pogoy trade happen soon?
“Baka two games pa. Third game siguro laro na ako,” said Pogoy, who was in street clothes in TNT’s debut game against Rain or Shine last Friday, which the defending champions lost, 112-109.
Going by his projection, his comeback game could coincide with the Tropang 5G’s game against the San Miguel Beermen on March 28 in a rematch between the two protagonists in the last Philippine Cup finals.
It was during the all-Filipino title series two months ago when Pogoy reinjured his hamstring during Game 4, leaving him grounded for the next two games, which the Beermen won to retain their championship.
He initially hurt his hamstring during the semifinals of the same conference against Rain or Shine.

It’s his return to active duty that Pogoy is focus on, unmindful of the swirling rumors about being traded to Blackwater for sophomore guard Sedrick Barefield.
The 10-year veteran said he’s not letting things affect his recovery from the injury, though team manager Jojo Lastimosa already denied plans to trade Pogoy in a statement posted on TNT's social media account.
“Sumali na ako sa 5-on-5 (practice),” he casually said about his impending comeback, his way of blocking anything about the trade matter.
