AS promised, cage great Robert Jaworski Sr showed up at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Thursday night to show support for former team Barangay Ginebra.
And it’s something he’ll never get tired of doing for a ballclub he considered as his ‘home.’
“It’s my way of showing support to them especially when they need it,” Jaworski said in a short message to SPIN.ph as he made his way to the ringside in the second quarter of Game 3 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series between the Kings and the TnT Katropa Texters.
“I hope they make it,” added the iconic figure acknowledged for instituting Ginebra’s never-say-die attitude.
Chants of 'Jaworski! Jaworski!' and 'Ginebra! Ginebra!' reverberated inside the Big Dome the moment the Living Legend took his customary seat at ringside, with the Kings holding on to a 45-33 lead.
Despite holding a 61-47 edge at the half, the 71-year-old Jaworski still proceeded inside the team dugout and gave a pep talk to the Kings.
Shortly before coach Tim Cone went back inside the playing court, he and Jaworski had a short talk outside the Ginebra locker room.
“You will make it. Good luck,” Jaworski was overheard saying to his former rival coach.
