ROBERT Bolick is willing to take on the role of NorthPort’s top point guard if the Batang Pier select the former San Beda cager in the PBA Rookie Draft.

NorthPort expressed its interest in taking Bolick if he is still on the board when the Batang Pier pick third overall in the coming draft scheduled on Sunday at the Robinsons’ Place in Manila.

If that occurs, Bolick will take the place of Terrence Romeo as new backcourt partner of Stanley Pringle – a challenge that he will readily accept.

“Mabigat na pangalan,” said Bolick in an interview with reporters during the SLAM Draft Suite at the Buffalo Wild Wings-Estancia in Pasig City.

Bolick said he also wants to give Pringle more opportunities to score if he becomes a teammate of his at NorthPort.

“Kapag ganun nangyari, siguro take turns kami and then, siyempre mas scorer naman sa akin ‘yun. Sabihin ko sa kanya, I’ll just give you the ball and take all the shots if you want. Wala namang problema sa akin,” said Bolick.

The former San Beda star also hopes to make shots if defenses will focus on Pringle.

“He is talented. If ever siya ang mag-create, as a point guard, I should make those shots if I’m open and shoot it with confidence. Gusto ko ipakita sa kanya na I won’t back down to any challenge.

“Sana magka-blend in kami ng maayos, if ever na ganun ang mangyari ha. As of now, hindi mo alam,” said Bolick.

Bolick said he plans to do the same things he did in college when he goes to the pros.

“Same mentality pa rin ako sa college, making my teammates better, funny guy in practice, medyo light.

Hopefully, mga teammates ko, ‘yung trust nila, I’ll make them better, find open guys, and be a good teammate,” said Bolick.
