NORTHPORT coach Pido Jarencio couldn't be any happier with his side securing Robert Bolick as the third overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday.
"It's a good pick for us. Siya talaga yung ina-eye namin to complement with Stanley," he said.
Bolick has been the main guy in the Batang Pier's radar and their belief was further cemented after the San Beda star's stellar play in the two-day Draft Combine.
Jarencio took exception of Bolick's resume, leading the Red Lions to a three-peat from 2016 to 2018 and he believes that someone with such a gaudy trophy case is just what NorthPort needs heading into the 2019 PBA season.
"Winner yung bata eh. That's what we need: a winner," he said.
Aside from Bolick, the Batang Pier also took in Edrian Lao, Jeremiah Taladua, and John Ragasa in this year's draft selection proceedings.
However, those three picks aren't guaranteed a spot in NorthPort's lineup, as Jarencio admitted that he still needs to have a closer look on his side's draftees.
"Tignan natin sa tryout at ensayo kung babagay sila sa team," he said.
