NORTHPORT is now negotiating with Robert Bolick’s camp for a possible return to the team.
Batang Pier coach Bonnie Tan revealed the development during the PBA Media Day, just days after Bolick was released by his Japan B.League team Fukushima Firebonds upon his own request.

“As of this moment, we are currently actively in talks with Bolick’s camp and his agent to explore ‘yung possibility of his return on our team at sa PBA,” Tan said.
Even after signing with the B.League team, Bolick’s rights, under PBA rules, remained with NorthPort.
When asked about the percentage on the chances of Bolick returning to the team, Tan refused to make an assessment.
“At least we are in talks now,” said Tan.
Tan said even after Bolick left for Japan, he has maintained constant communication with their former player.
Constant commucation
“When he was in Japan pa naman, nandoon pa ‘yung communication at ‘yung interest niya na babalik siya for personal reasons. Hindi na bago. Nag-usap kami I remember sa September 9 at ‘yung birthday niya. Doon nag-start,” said Tan.
Tan admitted he was also surprised with the turn of events regarding Bolick’s playing career in Japan.
“We were in shock kasi we were all anticipating na a year or two ‘yung contract niya doon. Yes, we were surprised,” said Tan.

Tan, however, said Bolick has indicated that one of his options is to return to the PBA.
“Nag-uusap naman ang both camps. Let’s wait and see kung ano ‘yung result. Kasi may mga options din siya to play in other countries. But I heard na priority niya sa PBA,” said Tan.
