EVEN as it guns for the Philippine Cup title, Phoenix is already gearing up for the Commissioners’ Cup.

The Fuel Masters tapped former Alaska reinforcement Rob Dozier to beef the squad up for the second conference set to open in May.

Dozier's agent Sheryl Reyes bared the news on Thursday.

A Best Import awardee, Dozier led the Aces to their last title in the 2013 Commissioner's Cup, before returning for another pair of duties, the last of which being in the second conference of 2016, where Alaska finished as runner-up to Rain or Shine.

The 33-year-old has spent his last three seasons with the Japanese B.League with San-En NeoPhoenix where he averaged 15.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 block this past year.

Dozier is expected to blend in seamlessly in Phoenix, with a number of familiar faces from his Alaska days now with the Fuel Masters, from coaches Louie Alas and Topex Robinson, to players Calvin Abueva and RJ Jazul.

Before Dozier hits the court, though, Phoenix is aiming to claim its first title in the all-Filipino conference as it is set to face defending champion San Miguel in a best-of-seven semifinals starting on Saturday.
