ANTIPOLO – Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson as Barangay Ginebra import?
That actually became an option for the Gin Kings in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals following the situation of Justin Brownlee when he suffered a dislocated right thumb in Game 3.
Aside from Ange Kouame, Ginebra coach Tim Cone admitted Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s brother stepping in as Brownlee’s replacement was explored although the option didn't gain much ground.

Rahlir is in the country to support Rondae’s bid for his third PBA title.
“We were exploring options. We were making phone calls. There was some talk about getting RHJ’s brother as well. We had everything on the table. Alfrancis [Chua] was the one who was in charge of that,” said Cone.

Rahlir played for TNT in the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup after Rondae got hurt midway into the tournament.
Had the talks became serious, however, getting Rahlir would be easier said than done as TNT still has the older Hollis-Jefferson’s rights, and the only time the Gin Kings can get his services is through his release.
While he is here to support his brother Rondae, Rahlir has been spotted attending TNT’s practices during the finals.
Eventually, Ginebra stayed with Brownlee and he responded by playing one of his best games in the PBA. But prior to Game 4, desperate times called for desperate measures for the Gin Kings.
