REY Nambatac was heartbroken to lose to San Miguel on Sunday night after TNT looked poised to win Game 3 and take the lead in the PBA 50th Season Philippine Cup Finals.
Nambatac nailed the go-ahead three with 1:17 left in the fourth quarter for an 87-86 lead in the fourth quarter, which was then followed by a two-hand slam by Henry Galinato over June Mar Fajardo with 50 seconds left.

But Cjay Perez almost singlehandedly revived San Miguel from there, knocking down a four-point shot and a three-pointer that brought San Miguel ahead in the series in shocking fashion instead of TNT being ahead, 2-1.
“On my part, nakakapanghinayang,” said Nambatac, the last player to leave the TNT dugout after the loss. “Masakit sa loob. Masakit sa dibdib.”
Nambatac, however, said all is not lost for TNT as he vowed that his team will fight back despite the stinging setback.

“Siyempre, etong masakit na pagkatalo, motivation na lang din sa akin. Nandoon na eh. Almost na eh. Dalawang possession na lang eh. Pero hindi binigay sa amin. Isa lang ‘yung masasabi ko. Hindi namin na-close out ng maayos itong larong ‘to,” said Nambatac.
“Tignan namin kung saan kami nagkamali. Sana 'di na mangyari uli,” he added.
Nambatac also hailed Perez’s for rescuing his team to victory after TNT’s run of its own in the fourth quarter.
“Wala eh, ‘yun talaga galaw ni Cjay. Kahit alanganing tira, nasu-shoot pa rin niya kasi ginagawa niya na ‘yun, matagal na,” said Nambatac.
