REY Nambatac proved how valuable he is to TNT's title run in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after being named Finals MVP on Friday night.
Nambatac finished with 22 points and four assists in the epic Game 7 win over Barangay Ginebra, 87-83, as the Tropang Giga won a second straight championship before a mammoth crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
For the entire series, Nambatac was a consistent presence for the Tropang Giga, averaging 17.85 pts, 3.1 rebs, and 3.4 assists to emerge as the unanimous choice by the PBA Press Corps for the series award presented by Honda.

The guard out of Letran scored a playoff career-high 23 points in Game 6 as he helped the Tropang Giga hack out an 87-83 win to forge the winner-take-all showdown.
It was the second consecutive title for Nambatac since being acquired by TNT in a trade with Blackwater just before Season 49 began in exchange for Kib Montalbo, Jewel Ponferada, and a future second round pick.
The 31-year-old Nambatac was a first round pick (no. 7 overall) by Rain or Shine in the 2017 draft.
He was traded last year to Blackwater for two future draft picks, apparently after failing to get ample playing time with the Elasto Painters.
But his stint with the Bossing was a short one, suiting up for just a single conference before finding his way with TNT.
Incidentally, Nambatac also won an NCAA men's basketball championship with Letran in 2015.
