RENZO Subido is taking his time to decide if he will declare for the 2019 PBA Rookie Draft or not.
The 5-foot-7 guard said that he'll spend the next days to plot his next step at the end of his UAAP career with University of Santo Tomas.
"Right now, yung PBA hindi ko pa naman naiisip. I have to talk to my family, with my manager," said Subido, who has a week before the November 29 deadline for the filing of draft applications.
Subido has certainly left a great impression in his final year with the Growling Tigers, proving himself as a knockdown sniper after averaging 8.8 points on a 34-percent shooting from deep, to go with 3.8 assists and 2.1 rebounds.
His steady guard play also was a big help in UST's return to the Final Four for the first time in four years. The Tigers reached the championship series before settling for runner-up honors against Ateneo.
As of now, the only thing certain is the 23-year-old taking his talents to San Juan Knights in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
"For me, I’m gonna be playing in the MPBL for the San Juan Knights," he shared. "For now, focus lang ako with the MPBL kasi yun lang naman ang task at hand."
Subido is set to make his MPBL debut on Monday against Makati in the ongoing Lakan Cup.
Regardless of whether Subido tests his luck in the PBA or holds out those plans, UST coach Aldin Ayo is confident that his senior will do well wherever he goes.
"All season long, I was very, very hard on him," he said. "Tinutukan ko siya at may mga aspeto ng laro niya at pagkatao niyang sinubukan kong baguhin at iimprove. Alam naman namin pareho na, in the long run, makakatulong yun sa kanya."
