MAGNOLIA governor Rene Pardo has been hit with a P50,000 fine for his role in the ‘Spiderman’ incident in Game Five of the PBA Philippine Cup finals.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial announced the penalty after speaking to Pardo during Thursday’s board meeting.
A man in a Spiderman costume later identified as Paolo Felizarta caused controversy in Game Five of the Philippine Cup finals series between Magnolia and San Miguel when he entered the court, colliding with June Mar Fajardo in the process.
Pardo was penalized after videos showed that the Magnolia governor appeared to have hit someone identified as Felizarta’s alleged accomplice while he was being escorted out of the Smart-Araneta Coliseum floor.
Fines and suspensions were also handed out to Ronald Tubid and Kelly Nabong, who were suspended for three games and fined P75,000 each for throwing punches at Felizarta and his alleged accomplice, respectively.
Also penalized were San Miguel assistant team manager Daniel Henares and team doctor Ramon Ibanez (P50,000 and two-game suspension each).
