RAIN or Shine is considering bringing back Reggie Johnson as its import for the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Coach Caloy Garcia said the hulking 6-foot-10 player out of Miami is the team's top target, although it is also considering two other prospects on its short list.
Johnson suited up for the Elasto Painters in the mid-season conference last year and steered the team to the No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs.
But Rain or Shine lost in the semis to Barangay Ginebra, which won the championship by dethroning San Miguel Beer in the finals.
Garcia however, is a bit concerned by Johnson’s condition as the 29-year-old import has not been active since his stint with the Elasto Painters.
“Ang alam ko kasi matagal siyang hindi naglaro, although sabi niya kundisyon naman siya,” said the Rain or Shine mentor.
Rain or Shine is fresh from a semifinal stint in the Philippine Cup, where it pushed Magnolia to the limit before losing Game 7 in overtime, 63-60.
