YENG Guiao was ejected, again, on Friday night. But PBA officials surely hasn't heard the last from him.
The fiery NLEX mentor once again ripped into the officiating in the team's 87-85 win over Phoenix in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Astrodome, describing it as a 'badly officiated game.'
"I don't think the officiating was up to par to the effort that both teams put into this game," he said. "It's just frustrating na yung mga calls, they mean a lot to the teams. Pero pagdating sa mga referees parang walang kuwenta sa kanila yung mga tawag.
"They dont' feel what we feel, and I think that's the problem with that. Hindi nila nararamdaman yung nararamdaman namin. That's where the frustration comes from."
Guiao, also head coach of the Gilas Pilipinas men's team, was whistled for two straight technical fouls in the final 42 seconds for an outright ejection and the Road Warriors holding an 84-78 lead.
The Fuel Masters went on a 6-1 run following Guiao's exit to threaten at 86-85 with eight seconds left.
"Buti na lang na-survive namin," said Guiao as the Road Warriors ended their campaign in the mid-season conference with a 3-8 record.
The win is definitely a good springboard as NLEX is already looking forward to its bid in the Governors Cup.
"This is just a send-off for us on winning note," he said. "We'll start working on our preparations for the Governors Cup."
