LA Tenorio is recharged and ready to go.
The Barangay Ginebra guard was back on the playing court and practicing with Gilas Pilipinas after taking a week-long break, which he used to take a vacation with his family in Boracay and Cebu.
The one-week break is well-deserved, considering Tenorio logged a career-high 37.35 minutes a game for injury-hit Ginebra while enduring a painful elbow during Ginebra's run to the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals.
“Enough na ito (vacation). At least nakapag-pahinga sa Boracay,” Tenorio told Spin.ph.
Now with both body and mind refreshed and recharged, Tenorio said he’s ready to swing back to action and help Gilas Pilipinas in its bid for a top three finish in the coming Fiba-Asia Men’s Championship.
He wasted no time rejoining Gilas' practice on Monday, ready to once again lead from the front for a team that will play before a home crowd in the August 1-11 showpiece at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Binigyan naman kami ng at least one week off. So enough na `yun. Unfair din naman sa iba kung di pa ako mag-e-ensayo,” said the Ginebra point guard.
In all, the former Ateneo star finished the midseason tournament with averages of 13.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on the way to bagging his very first Best Player of the Conference award.
