RAYMOND Almazan showed what Rain or Shine missed as he produced monster numbers against his former team on Sunday night in the PBA Governors Cup.

The lanky 6-foot-8 center torched the Elasto Painters for 18 points and 19 rebounds, numbers which Rain or Shine managed to survive in hacking out an 83-81 win at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Almazan scored 10 points in the third quarter when the Bolts led by as much as 13 points while grabbing 10 offensive rebounds, most of them late in the game when the team was playing catch-up against the Elasto Painters.

Too bad, he missed a point blank basket with four seconds left that could have sent the game into overtime.

“Wala, enjoy lang ako kanina. Nagtatawanan pa kami kanina ni Beau (Belga).”
