KEVIN Ferrer isn't one to question coach Tim Cone on his endgame adjustments in the overtime period, especially with Ray Parks going berserk in extra time.

"No comment ako dyan," he said on the heels of Ginebra's shock 108-107 overtime defeat to Blackwater. "Basta kung ano yung decision rin ni coach, wala tayong magagawa. Decision niya yun."

Parks scored 10 of his 28 points in those final five minutes, steering the Elite to their second win in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

But if there's someone in the Gin Kings bench who knows Parks all too well, it's definitely Ferrer.

Ferrer even jokingly referred to Parks as his "best friend" in their first game against each other in the pro league.

"Masaya ulit na mabantayan siya. Na-miss ko lang siya bantayan," he said.

The two have had numerous battles back in their collegiate days, with Parks suiting up for National University and Ferrer repping University of Santo Tomas.

And their duels have been well-documented, with no one refusing to give an inch to the other whenever they found themselves on the opposing sides.

However, unlike in the UAAP where Ferrer had the last laugh, it was Parks who got the better draw this time with Blackwater coming out triumphant.

That result only makes Ferrer hungry to meet Parks anew, hopefully sometime in the future, especially with how the no. 2 pick in the 2019 PBA Draft has improved through the years.

"First game pa lang naman eh. Sana maulit ulit na magkaharap ulit, at sana manalo naman," the lanky defender, who only logged 14 minutes on the floor, said.

"Malaki yung pagbabago niya eh. Marami na ring na-develop sa kanya, lalo na yung decision making niya."

Asked if there's something special whenever he faces off against Parks, Ferrer shrugged the notion off, noting that at the end of the day, he's just doing his best to be a pest to the opposing team's best scorer whenever he gets a chance.

"Wala naman, trabaho lang. Ito, trabaho ko na ito eh. Kailangan ko lang gawin ang trabaho ko. Gawin ko lang yung best ko," he said.
