ROOKIE Ralph Cu has yet to score a single point in his first four games with Barangay Ginebra but has already caught the admiration of head coach Tim Cone.
“We all love Ralph,” said Cone. “His demeanor is fantastic for a guy coming off the bench. He is a super nice guy. He is quiet. But he has a good eye. He sees the court really well. He makes nice passes. Makes really good decisions. And that’s what you want."

The 23rd overall pick in the recent draft has been providing quality minutes for the Kings, including their previous game against Blackwater where Cu dished out two assists in 16 minutes of play.
The former La Salle player made the most of the extra minutes he got with Jamie Malonzo out due to a wrist injury.
“Jamie wasn’t there and we had Ralph starting in the first game of the conference. That’s how much we believe in him,” said Cone.
The 26-year-old Cu said he was surprised with the breaks he was getting early on in his PBA career.
“Para sa akin, gina-grab ko lang ‘yung opportunity,” said Cu who also played for Ginebra in the PBA 3x3. “Hindi ko tinitignan ‘yung scoring. Marami naman kaming scorers sa team. Maraming magagaling na players.”
“Thankful ako sa opportunity kasi malaki ‘yung trust agad na binigay nila sa akin. I just want to repay it by performing on the court,” he added.
Cone said Cu can make shots in bunches if asked to.
“Hasn’t hit a shot yet though. He can shoot. He wins all our shooting drills in practice. But he just can’t quite get a shot to get in for us in the games," Cone said. "But when he does, watch out because he is a great shooter. But he also really makes good decisions, especially on the defensive side."
