RAIN or Shine star guard Paul Lee is hopeful of playing in Game Five on Friday when the Elasto Painters try to finish off Petron in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series.
The Elasto Painters defeated the Boosters, 88-83, in Game Four to take a 3-1 series lead on Monday despite missing Lee in the second half after the third-year guard sprained his right ankle following a challenge on a layup attempt by Chris Ross in the second quarter.
Still, the former University of the East star is confident the injury won't keep him out of action in the playoffs.
“Bad sprain, pero good thing naman sa mga ganitong injury, mabilis naman mag-recover ang katawan ko. So hindi naman ako nag-woworry. Siguro makakalaro ako sa next game,” Lee said.
Still, Lee rued the missed chance of helping his team gain the hard-fought victory that moved them on the verge of returning to the all-Filipino conference Finals.
“Syempre sobrang hirap kasi lagi na lang ganun nararamdaman ko every mag-se-semis or importante na yung mga laro, lagi na lang ako nakaupo, hindi ako ako nakakatulong.”
In the 2012 Governors’ Cup Finals against B-Meg, Lee injured his shoulder and missed much of the title playoffs as the Painters outlasted the Llamados in seven games.
“Buti nga ngayon sprain lang at kaya ko maglaro next game,” Lee said.
