RAIN or Shine brings back a piece of franchise history on Wednesday when the Elasto Painters wear retro jerseys for their game against Converge in the PBA Philippine Cup.
The Elasto Painters will be wearing the ‘Welcoat Dragons’ dark blue uniforms in paying homage to the old brand it carried in the company's early years in basketball.
The team posted a video of the jerseys being revealed to the players on their social media accounts.

The Asian Coatings-owned team entered the league as the Welcoat Dragons in 2006 following its purchase of the Shell franchise, before making the shift to Rain or Shine after two years.
Prior to its entry in the PBA, the company also carried the Welcoat brand when it became one of the most successful franchises in amateur basketball.

Founded in 1996, the then-Paint Masters won six championships in the defunct Philippine Basketball League (PBL) from the late 1990s to early 2000s.
