RAIN or Shine will continue to miss the services of injured guard Ed Daquioag come the sudden-death game against Blackwater in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinals series.
Coach Caloy Garcia said the third-year guard is definitely out for the deciding game of the best-of-three series currently tied at 1-1 set on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Daquioag suffered an injury in the third quarter of the Elasto Painters’ 83-80 comeback win in the series opener. That forced him to sit down Tuesday night’s Game 2 won by the Elite, 100-96.
“Out na siya,” said Garcia. “If we make it to the semis, sa Game 1 puwede na siya.”
Daquioag tallied 19 points, three rebounds, and three assists in the Game 1 win.

But Garcia said the Elasto Painters are still very much capable of pulling off a win even without Daquioag.
“Coming to Thursday, hindi ako naniniwala doon sa who has less experience (will lose). I think whoever wants it more (will win),” said the Rain or Shine mentor.
