RAIN or Shine has brought in Carl Montgomery to replace Denzel Bowles, head coach Caloy Garcia confirmed on Monday.
Montgomery joined the team’s practice on Monday, two days after the Elastopainters got the bad news that Bowles sustained a knee injury.
It didn’t take long for the Elastopainters to find a replacement import for Rain or Shine’s next game against Magnolia.
Listed at 6-foot-8, the 30-year-old Montgomery played college ball at Chicago State from 2007 to 2011. In his final year, he averaged 17.1 points and 7.7 rebounds.
Montgomery had suited up for the JD Unicorns Singapore team that is playing in the Malaysia Pro League this year.
