THOUSANDS of fans lined up and waited for the gates to open for Game Seven of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup between Rain or Shine and Talk 'N Text on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The best-of-seven series does not involve the league's most popular teams, but fans have been lured to the Big Dome expecting to witness a fitting climax to one of the most fiercely fought finals seen in years.
Judging from the number of fans outside the Big Dome, Game Seven is expected to be the best-attended match of the series, even if it is held in midweek.
A male Talk ‘N Text fan, who asked not to be named, said he bought his upper box ticket at 3 p.m. and had to wait for two hours queueing just outside the Big Dome’s red gate entrance.
“Kanina pa ako dito, mga alas-tres ng hapon. Naghanap ako ng ticket, pero upper box na lang ang nabili ko. Naubusan na ako,” said the Talk ‘N Text fans, who entered Big Dome at 5 p.m. when the gates were finally opened.
As of 5 p.m., tickets for the VIP seats, courtside, Patron A, B and C, Box Premium and regular (lower box) seats were already sold out. The only remaining tickets still being sold at the booths were for Upper Box seats, price at P350 each, and general admission (P120).
Big Dome officials have yet to announce if they will be releasing SRO (standing room only) tickets.
