RAIN or Shine has issued tender offers to rookies Christian Manaytay, Jun Roque, Mark Denver Omega, Deo Cuajao, and Joshua David, as per head coach Yeng Guiao.
By giving them tender offers, the Elasto Painters kept the signing rights of the five rookies after picking them in the first two rounds of the PBA draft. Rain or Shine, semifinalists in the three conferences during the 49th season, had the most draft picks in the first two rounds for this season – two of which came in the first.

Becoming free agents after failing to receive tender offers from Rain or Shine are third-rounder (No. 34 pick) Cole Micek, fourth-rounder (No. 45) Kyle Tolentino, and fifth-rounder (No. 55) MJ Dela Virgen.
Contracts, however, have yet to be signed since the five are still finishing their commitments in other leagues.

Manaytay, the Elasto Painters’ first rounder at No. 10, is currently under contract with the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards in the MPBL, while Roque, the No. 12 selection, will still play for Letran in the NCAA.
Omega, the 20th pick, and Cuajao, the 22nd, are also with Letran and will wrap up their collegiate stint in the NCAA this season, while David, at 24th in the draft, is also in the MPBL with the Abra Weavers.

The MPBL and the NCAA will conclude in December.
Despite their commitments to other squads, the five reported to practice in the days after the draft just so that they can get to know the team better.
“Hindi naman kami nagmamadali with regards to the rookies,” said Guiao.
