ANTIPOLO – Rain or Shine extended its red-hot start to seven successive wins by beating Terrafirma, 124-117, on Wednesday night in the PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup at the Ynares Center.
The league-leading Elasto Painters dropped 22 threes and one four to tie a PBA record and their 41-18 second quarter sparked the rout that sent the Dyip reeling to a fourth straight loss after a 3-0 start.

Anton Asistio had 15 of his 18 points in the second quarter that saw him hit all three of his threes for Rain or Shine, which led by as many as 26 points before using the minutes to give gametime exposure to its deep bench.
Terrafirma made the game close late in the fourth, but the lead was just too massive to overcome.
The 23 outside shots tied a league record set by four other teams, according to PBA statistics chief Fidel Mangonon.
The last team to hit 23 threes/fours was NLEX last March 2, 2023 in a 142-125 win over Terrafirma in the Governors' Cup.
“Hindi namin masyado iniisip yung record. We just tried to play our game and be consistent with our style of play. We tried to give our rookies some live game experience today so we tried to give them extended minutes and rest our regular guys,” said Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.
Jaylen Johnson had a triple-double of 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, while rookie Jun Roque and Adrian Nocum had 15 and 13 points apiece for the Elasto Painters, who had all of their 16 players seeing action for at least six minutes.
Mubashar Ali had 32 points, but the bulk of his points came in the second half when the lead was already huge. Jerrick Ahanmisi had 21 points for the Dyip.
