RAIN or Shine ruled the 39th Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament via sweep after a 138-116 repeat win over La Salle on Sunday at the University of Southeastern Philippines Gymnasium in Davao City.
The Elasto Painters opened leads as high as 24 points in dominating the championship game, denying the reigning UAAP champions a victory against a third PBA team in the four-team pocket tournament.

Rain or Shine completed a four-game sweep of the tournament that also included victories over Converge and Phoenix and a 106-105 win over La Salle to start the competition serving as preparation for the PBA 49th Season Governors’ Cup.
Aaron Fuller led the way with 34 points and 11 rebounds while Andrei Caracut had 21 points, eight assists, and three steals on his way to winning the MVP of the tournament award.
Keith Datu added 17 points and shot 3-of-4 from threes, while Gian Mamuyac also added 17 points in the Rain or Shine victory.

Kevin Quiambao completed a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds while Mike Phillips had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Green Archers, who won against two PBA teams in Phoenix and Converge.
Phoenix defeated Converge, 87-81, to take third place behind import Jay McKinnis, who had 22 points and 17 rebounds. Jason Perkins added 13 points for the Fuel Masters.
Converge reinforcement Scotty Hopson finally played for the FiberXers and finished with 16 points.
