RAIN or Shine team owners Terry Que and Raymond Yu said they were ‘humbled’ to win a championship against a proud franchise like Alaska.
The E-Painters looked headed to a sweep of the PBA Commissioner's Cup finals after racing to a3-0 lead, but saw Alaska won the next two before RoS sealed the deal with a 109-92 win in Game Six on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Yu, who admitted that he was always on the edge of his seat every time Alaska would inch closer in Game Six, said it would've been sweet to sweep the Aces but knew it was never easy.
“We wanted sana to sweep Alaska but it’s really hard to close out a series, tingin ko na-pressure din sila (players) dun sa idea na isu-sweep mo ‘yung Alaska,” Yu told SPIN.ph shortly after Rain or Shine's title-clinching victory.
"Hindi naman basta-basta ‘yan eh, institution ‘yan sa PBA eh, so we’re very humbled na natalo namin sila," Yu added.

In an admirable gesture, Alaska owner Wilfred Uytengsu went over to Rain or Shine's side of the gallery to congratulate the Rain or Shine pair, minutes before the end of the match.
“He congratulated us, he told us to enjoy the championship,” shared Yu.
Que and Yu are understandably over the moon to win a championship, four years after the franchise's maiden title in the 2012 Governors Cup.
“Sobrang happy kaming lahat nag-champion kami,” said the soft-spoken Que.
“Kahapon ‘yung mga players nag-meeting sila na tapusin na today kasi. Mahirap kapag nag-Game Seven kami mape-pressure, lalo na kaming dalawa,” added Yu.
The team owners were so pleased they promised to give the players the bonus they deserve.
“Oo syempre, meron ‘yan (bonus) pasasayahin din namin sila same na pinasaya nila kami,” said Yu.
