Rain or Shine import AZ Reid excited to play winner-take-all match: 'I dream of games like this'

    Jul 7, 2014

RAIN or Shine import AZ Reid can't wait to play Game Five of the PBA Governors Cup Finals.

"Of course, if I'm not confident I wouldn't be here (in the Finals)," Reid said on Monday night when asked if he likes Rain or Shine's chances in the winner-take-all match against San Mig.

"I'm a competitor, I look forward to Game Five, I dream of games like this," he added.

Reid was vocal about getting tired of losing to San Mig prior to Game Four, and was happy with the way his Rain or Shine teammates responded on the way to an 88-79 victory.

"I believe in my teammates like they believe in me," he said. "We won tonight because of team effort and on Game Five I expect nothing but the same effort and hopefully we win."

Reid led Rain or Shine with 22 points, anchored on four three-pointers, to go with 17 rebounds. But the 28-year-old it's not so much the numbers but the effort that matter.

"I do whatever they need me to do," he said. "If they need me to score, I'll score; if they need me to be the facilitator, I'll be the facilitator.

"I don't get paid to score; I get paid to win games."
