RAIN or Shine extended Rey Nambatac's contract two more years, locking him up with the Elasto Painters until 2026.

The ballclub announced the signing of the contract extension that was done well ahead of the expiration of his contract. Team governor Mamerto Mondragon and Nambatac’s agent Edgar Mangahas were also present in the signing.

Nambatac is in the second year of a three-year maximum deal he signed with the Elasto Painters in November 2021, but the team decided to extend it already.

The former Letran cager averaged a shade over 13 points a game during the Season 47 campaign of Rain or Shine in the PBA.

His role with the team as one of their premier scorers haven’t changed even with the return of Yeng Guiao as head coach, posting averages of 12.5 and 13.7 points per game during the Commissioner’s and Governors’ Cup respectively.

Not even a recent team sanction last April when he played in an unsanctioned exhibition game didn’t prevent Rain or Shine from giving Nambatac a contract extension.

Nambatac is currently Rain or Shine's leading scorer in the PBA on Tour, averaging 15.2 points through five games.
