RAIN or Shine closed its pre-conference tuneup with a 139-98 win over shorthanded guest team Macau Giant Pandas on Tuesday at the Acropolis Gym in Quezon City.
The Elasto Painters went 1-1 win-loss in the run-up to the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup, bouncing back from their defeat to Converge last week.

Caelan Tiongson buried a couple of outside shots to help the Elasto Painters pull away against the Giant Pandas.
Rain or Shine is slated to make its 50th Season Governors’ Cup debut on Saturday at the Ynares Center-Montalban.
RoS coach Yeng Guiao said the team is still in the adjustment phase with their returning import Aaron Fuller.
“Isa [na talo] sa Converge, natalo kami pero okay naman. I think it’s part of the adjustment period after a long break and getting used to our import Aaron. Converge played a really good game against us.
“Sa Macau, mukhang hindi pa sila kumpleto at mukhang hindi pa sila nakakapag-practice ng husto. They just got together. But at least, it’s a good way to get out of our regular practice routine and play games,” said Guiao.
Import De’Vondre Perry, Damian Chong Qui, Ramon Cao, and Kobey Lam were the notable players who saw action for the Giant Pandas. Coach Marcus Elliot said they are still waiting for other players to sign with the team.
The Giant Pandas will play in the Governors’ Cup opener against NLEX on Friday at the Ynares Center-Antipolo.
