RAIN or Shine has locked up its three selections from the PBA Season 46 Rookie Draft, coming to terms with the neophytes on Monday.
No. 5 pick Santi Santillan signed a three-year pact with the Elasto Painters, signalling a new start for the career of the 6-foot-4 forward from Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu.
He is expected to bolster the frontline for Rain or Shine, which currently features Beau Belga, Jewel Ponferrada, Norbert Torres, new acquisition Bradwyn Guinto, and incoming sophomores Vince Tolentino and Prince Rivero.
Also agreeing to separate deals were second-round selections Franky Johnson and Anton Asistio.
The Fil-Am Johnson, picked 17th overall, agreed to a two-year deal with Rain or Shine, while the Ateneo guard Asistio, selected 22nd overall, inked a one-year deal.
They are seen as huge boosts to the backcourt, which has Rey Nambatac and Adrian Wong.
All three are seen as huge additions to a budding Elasto Painters crew, which will have coach Chris Gavina at the helm this 46th season.
With the rookies are their manager Marvin Espiritu of Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management, who negotiated the deal with Rain or Shine governor Mamerto Mondragon.
