A PROOF that Magnolia has been stretching its rotation in the PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup is the games that Rafi Reavis has appeared this conference.
From playing just one game in the Commissioner’s Cup, the 47-year-old Reavis has already saw action in four of the Hotshots’ five outings including last Sunday when he played for six minutes and seven seconds and finished with four points and three rebounds in their 127-94 victory over Terrafirma.

Reavis’ lone appearance in the Commissioner’s Cup was in a January 16 game against Phoenix where he played for four minutes and one second.
Ironically, Reavis’ lone match that he missed this conference so far was against Phoenix in their out-of-town game in Zamboanga City.
Magnolia coach Chito Victolero said there is an effort to field in the oldest player in the leauge, expecting that they may need Reavis come the crucial stretch of the Hotshots’ campaign.
“Rafi is always ready,” said Victolero of Reavis, who was even his former teammate during the late 1990s with the San Juan Knights in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA).
"I just try to give him some minutes para if in case we need him in the future.”
A notable appearance for Reavis this conference was when he scored two points and grabbed one rebound for three minutes and 52 seconds in the Hotshots’ 98-95 overtime win against San Miguel last April 23. In that stretch, Reavis was tasked to defend eight-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo.
“Like what we did against San Miguel, we used him… with June Mar, ‘yun ‘yung mga ganung sitwasyon. He is always ready,” said Victolero.
Reavis is also seen active on the bench, standing and being outspoken to his teammates like he is one of the assistant coaches of the team.
Victolero said Reavis has always been that way ever since.
“Ganun naman talaga si Rafi. He is very active on the bench, talking to his teammates. If they have some suggestions, he also tells me about it,” Victolero said.
“We are very open sa players especially si Rafi, ang dami niyang experience,” said Victolero.
