CHICAGO - There is no shortage of big names expected to enter the upcoming Season 50 of the PBA Rookie Draft.
La Salle Green Archer Michael Phillips. KBL veteran and high-flyer Rhenz Abando maybe? Former T1 League Best Import Jason Brickman, Also in the mix, potentially, is Kobe Paras, who once made waves in the Japan B.League.
But perhaps the biggest and brightest star in the galaxy of young talents will not be among those chosen in the big board.
COLUMN: Please, not another No. 1 draft pick ending up in Terrafirma's hands
"Quentin Millora-Brown will not enter his name in this year's PBA draft," his American agent, Tod Seidel, told me on Tuesday morning.
QMB was projected to be the No. 1 overall pick, a 6-foot-10, 245-lb center with nimble feet and buttery soft touch around the basket.
Millora-Brown, who has a degree in mechanical engineering at prestigious Vanderbilt University, is also an excellent defender whose stout credentials include 155 Division 1 games played between Vanderbilt and Citadel in the US NCAA.

In his one-and-done UAAP stint last year, the Fil-Am from Virginia led the UP Fighting Maroons to the Season 87 title by dethroning La Salle in a three-game thriller where he averaged 14 points, 9 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
So what's next for the gentle, affable giant?
The short-term plan is to play for the Macau Black Bears in a pocket tournament in China, a stint that will include a friendly match against Gilas Pilipimas this coming July 28 at the Araneta Coliseum,
After Macau, QMB will head to Europe.
