Purefoods cancels practice to cheer for Pacquiao in viewing party with wives, kids

    Apr 28, 2015

LOOKING to have some time together off the court and at the same time find inspiration, Purefoods Star has cancelled Sunday practice and will hold a Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather viewing party for players and their families at Valle Verde 5’s clubhouse in Pasig City.

A Purefoods staff member has been tasked to arrange the viewing party where the coaching staff, players and their spouses will gather to show their support for Pacquiao, the boxing icon who is also a rival PBA player and coach.

Purefoods board governor Rene Pardo said before Pacquiao left to train in Los Angeles, the Hotshots already wished the 36-year-old Filipino boxing icon the best of luck in his maatch against the undefeated Mayweather.

“We just wished him good luck. Alam naman natin underdog naman siya, pero gusto naman niya yun eh,” Pardo told Spin.ph.

The longtime Purefoods team executive believes Pacquiao, who also serves as KIA Motors’ playing coach, will win the fight, though he will have to knock the flamboyant American champion to avoid any controversies.

“Palagay ko mananalo so Manny. Pero kailangan convincing at pabagsakin niya yun para wala nang judges involved or mga split decision,” he added.
