POY Erram is likely out of PBA Season 48 after undergoing knee surgery recently.
The veteran big man said he’ll be out for six months or more following the operation, which led to his decision to retire from playing for Gilas Pilipinas.

“Out ako six to eight months,” Erram disclosed.
The Commissioner’s Cup kicks off on October 15 and will finish by February, before the Philippine Cup ushers in a week after and ends around April or May.
Erram said he was diagnosed with an MCL tear, a swollen cartilage, and bone spurs.

The TNT center, who won two championships with the franchise since coming over following a trade, admitted being surprised by the diagnosis since he was still able to play for the national team during its three-week training camp in Europe as part of the Gilas Pilipinas training pool for the FIBA World Cup.
“Nagulat din ako sa totoo lang. Kasi bago kami umalis sobrang okay ng katawan ko,” Erram recalled.
“Tapos pagbalik naming galing camp, hindi na nawala yung maga, tapos masakit na talaga.”
Although bothered by the hurting knee, Erram continued attending Gilas practices but was no longer required to join the team scrimmages.
The national team coaching staff later decided to leave him out of the mini-pocket tournament it joined in Guandong, China and let him rest his injuries.
It was during that stretch when Erram was operated on.
His health condition prompted the big man to pen a lengthy post on social media just the other day announcing his retirement from playing for the national team.
