BOCAUE, Bulacan - John Paul Erram opens the PBA new season with a freshly signed contract with NLEX.
The Road Warriors' prized recruit in the offseason formally sealed his partnership with the franchise Sunday just before the opening of the league's 44th season.
The 6-foot-8 Erram signed a three-year deal, according to NLEX executive Ronald Dulatre.
The NLEX official though, refused to discuss the terms of the deal, which he said had already been approved in principal even before the formal signing was made.
Erram later validated he deserved such deal after being named part of the 2nd Mythical Team for the 2018 season during the annual Leo Awards at the Philippine Arena. It was the first time the former Ateneo big man became a member of the league's Mythical selection.
The Road Warriors had to give up a lot just to be able to get the services of Erram.
The team dealt Alex Mallari and Dave Marcelo to Phoenix in exchange for the no. 4 pick in last year's draft.
NLEX then traded the no. 4 pick and its own no. 7 pick to Blackwater in exchange for Erram.
