IT seems the injury bug will continue to hound TNT going to Season 50 of the PBA.
Big man Poy Erram is confirmed to suffer another ACL injury during the course of the just concluded Philippine Cup finals against champion San Miguel.
The 36-year-old Erram is scheduled to undergo surgery and could be out for about a year, meaning he’ll likely miss the coming season of the league when the PBA celebrates its golden anniversary.

Erram made the announcement on a social media post about his latest bout with ACL injury, which TNT strength and conditioning coach Dexter Aseron later verified.
“It’s not a full ACL tear, but it’s unstable hence the need for surgery,” said Aseron, adding it will take about a year for Erram to fully recover.
“With a heavy heart, I share that I’ve suffered an ACL injury. It’s painful, it’s frustrating, and I have every reason to be mad,” said the TNT big man in his Instagram post.
“But I also know that God has a greater plan for me.”
Erram was among the injured players of TNT during the finals that also included Simon Encisco, Rey Nambatac, Jielo Razon, and long-time team captain Jayson Castro, while playing hurt were Roger Pogoy, Calvin Oftana, Kelly Williams and Jordan Heading.
Erram initially suffered a Grade 2 sprain in Game 2 of the title series that made him miss the next game.
But the warrior in him pushed him to play in Game 4 despite hobbling on the floor, before finally sitting out for good when he went down with a meniscus tear.
Erram spent the last two games of the finals watching on the TNT bench, the best-of-seven series finally coming to an end in Game 6 last week as San Miguel reclaimed the All-Filipino crown with a 107-96 win.
Aseron said Erram’s been dealing with meniscus issues for quite some time now.
"His meniscus injury is an old injury that sometimes bothers him,” Aseron said.
It’s the third ACL injury for Erram, who also skipped almost a full season two years ago after undergoing surgery for a meniscal tear, bone spurs, and a swollen cartilage.
