EVEN good guys can have bad tempers.
Poy Erram had his rare episode last week and apologized for getting involved in a fight with Michael Miranda during a PBA preseason game between Blackwater and NLEX at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
The gentle giant showed his dark side after getting entangled with Miranda in a Road Warriors’ offensive play in the third quarter, with Erram admitting he hit the NLEX enforcer first with an elbow that left his opponent with a boxer's cut above one eye.
“Nauna na ako, nasiko ko siya,” the 6-foot-8 Erram said in a chat with SPIN.ph after practice on Monday. “Tinamaan siya dito (sa mukha). Nag-black out talaga ako. uminit lang bigla ulo ko.”
As he got back to his senses, the 28-year-old cager was already ejected and stuck in the dugout, helpless as he found out his team lost, 90-88.
Nakakagulat.”
Erram has yet to talk to Miranda but has already sent his apologies through former Blue Eagles teammates and current NLEX players Eman Monfort and Kiefer Ravena.
Good thing it was a mere tune-up game, in which Erram saw plenty of things they can work on.
“Konting polishing pa,” Erram said ahead of their opening game in the Philippine Cup on December 22 against Meralco at the Cuneta Astrodome.
