Pogoy, McCullough team up seven years after this incident went viral

This tongue-wagging incident went viral in 2019.

RR Pogoy is now joining forces with Chris McCullough, seven years after an incident between them went viral back when they were still playing for opposing teams.

In Game One of the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup finals between TNT and San Miguel on August 4, 2019, Pogoy was seen sticking his tongue out at McColllugh after taking away the ball from the then SMB import.

The play was captured on video and drew mixed reactions on line, with Pogoy later apologizing for the action. The Cebuano guard explained he did the act since it was difficult to guard McCullough.

Pogoy can only laugh about the incident now. The TNT gunner said past is past and he looks forward to playing with McCullough.

“Naalala ko dati ‘yung dinilaan ko pa si McCullough,” said Pogoy.

“Pero dati na ‘yun. Pero friends na kami,” added Pogoy, who revealed he and McCullough follow each other on Instagram. “Kahit sa IG naman, nag-uusap kami.”

Pogoy is coming off a heroic Game 3 performance where he made the game-winning three-point shot with 7.4 seconds left for a 77-75 win.

    Incidentally, McCullough witnessed the play personally as he went straight from the airport to the Mall of Asia Arena to watch his new team battle Meralco.

    Pogoy said he isn't even sure if McCullough still remembers the incident.

    “Papaalala ko,” Pogoy jokingly said.
