RR Pogoy's 'miraculous comeback' gained momentum as he hit the ground running with a 20-minute stint in TNT Tropang Giga's knockout loss to Anyang Jung Kwan Jang in the East Asia Super League (EASL).
TNT's ace guard dropped two points, five boards, one assist, and one steal in only his second outing since being diagnosed with myocarditis — an inflammation of the heart muscles — in October last year.

Tropang Giga interim coach Josh Reyes didn't let a much-needed chance to play 'high-level basketball' against the reigning Korean Basketball League champions slip from Pogoy's hands as he looks to rediscover his lethal form.

"We gave Roger Pogoy an opportunity to play at a high level. As you can see, he needs to get his legs under him more. He needs to get his rhythm back."
Reyes added: "It was very evident in the game, but for him to just play against a high-level team like Anyang would be a great jumpstart for Roger going into the (PBA) All-Filipino [Conference]."
Pogoy's projected six-month recovery timeframe was swiftly cut in half as he made his on-court return in TNT's 20-point rout of Phoenix to clinch the last quarterfinals berth in the 2023 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
At least for the time being, Pogoy and TNT are done for the season after bowing out of EASL Final Four contention and dealing with an early PBA playoff exit at the hands of league leader Magnolia.
